Have you been there? Yosemite National Park? If your answer is yes, this little excursion will bring back many wonderful memories of beauty, grandeur, tranquility, and wonder.
If the answer is no, you would do yourself a fabulous service to go with family and friends as soon as you are able. Maybe even sooner.
Yosemite is one of the places on this planet that changes a person. For me, it has something to do with putting life in perspective. Standing in the valley floor and looking up at El Capitan 3,000 feet above or at Half Dome, nearly 5,000 feet above is an awe inspiring event. Humbling.
God loves beauty and what He has made in Yosemite is spectacular, even after thousands of years of degeneration caused by sin.
Our garden pretty much goes south after only a week of neglect!
Everything in Yosemite is so huge it makes you feel pretty small. It makes life’s challenges and worry seem much smaller too. This is a good thing.
What’s the best time of the year to visit Yosemite? Sometime between January and December – read, anytime is the best time.
The best times to visit for less congestion in the valley are weekdays and non-holidays. Weekends and holidays can be quite crowded in the valley, but much better if you venture out of the valley to Tioga Lake or Tioga Pass or many other spectacular locations.
Do you like
to hike? You’re in luck because hiking choices are
plentiful.
Lodging in Yosemite valley is limited and can be a bit pricy, but the accommodations are top notch. You are directly on the Valley floor, close to hiking trails, the Merced River, and bike trails; many other conveniences are also close at hand.
These amenities do not come without a cost. Expect to spend $500 a night or more.
