Healthy weight loss foods. Did you know there were such foods? It’s true. Some foods actually aid the process of losing weight.
“How do they do that?” you ask? Two ways, actually.
First, healthy weight loss foods are higher in fiber than most foods, which means they have more volume which helps you become satiated or feel more “full” faster. Higher fiber foods also take more time to digest which translates to meaning you will feel full longer. That’s a good thing, right?
Second, they take longer to chew which, in turn means they take longer to chew so you get more pleasure from eating them.
Really! It's true! For many people, just taking these two simple steps greatly eases the challenges of losing weight. The pounds begin to come off like magic. While there is certainly nothing magic about it, it may feel like it!
We all know that in order to lose weight, we must eat fewer calories. OK. We get that. But, and this is the beautiful part, that does not mean we must eat less food!
Yes, you read that correctly! Eating fewer calories does not mean we must eat less food!
Yea!
So, what do we have to do? Fair question. Here’s the answer. To reduce our caloric intake while not eating less food means all we have to do is make different food choices.
Focus more on fiber rich, plant based foods. These are the kind of foods God originally provided for our diet.
FRUITS AND VEGETABLES: Enjoy them fresh from your local fruit stand or the produce section of your favorite grocery store. They come in a rainbow of colors, strawberries, apples, oranges, berries, nectarines, plums, leafy salads, and all kinds of green veggies.
BEANS: Chose from any kind of bean such as chickpeas, pinto beans, split peas, lentils and black beans. You may choose to eat them by themselves or add them to other dishes or soups, salads, or entrees.
WHOLE GRAINS: You can find whole grains in air-popped popcorn, whole-wheat or multigrain bread, whole wheat pasta, oatmeal, brown rice, or a high-fiber cereal.
Another great benefit of increasing your fiber intake is that you don’t have to deal with the tedious process of always counting calories or measuring your portion sizes.
The fact is, you can pretty well eat as much as you want of these foods that help you lose weight, because fruits and veggies are high in fiber and water content. Translation: it will probably be pretty difficult for you to overeat because you will become full and clearly feel the need to stop eating before you take in too many calories!
Is that a bit of heaven or what!
